Location of the Michel Colomb vine nursery

Our Vine Nursery is located in the région of Provence Alpes Côte D’Azur in south-east France, in the ‘département’ (country) of the Vaucluse (department 84).

 

 

PRODUCTION :

Plantation of Clonal Mother Plants
 
The farm has 20ha of root-stock mother plants under cultivation. 12 different varieties are available, all controlled by the Avignon branch of ONIVINS (our company being registered under ONIVINS Number 84056122F).

Young Plant Production

Our nursery gardens comprise no less than 2 million plants, under control of the Avignon branch of ONIVINS.
 
Our Vine Nursery « Michel Colomb » maintain a cooperation relations with more than 15 nurseries from this region. With their support the number of plants reach a number above 5 million. The entier production process is controlled by Mr. Michel Colomb and by the Aragon branch of ONIVINS.

Automated sorting line :
I.Verification of grafts and rooting.
II. Cutting the stems and roots.
III. Protection of the graft with paraffin wax and didinfection.
IV. Applying root protection and bagging-up.
V. Packing into palettes and putting into cold storage.

Summer pruning in July/August, to obtain regular growth in our plants

10 to 12 treatements are carried out depending on that year’s weather in our vine nursery to fight against : mildew, oidium, flavescence dorée. We also use insecticides.

December/January. Mechanical harvest of the young vine plants.
